1.1 Analyse how factors impact on an individual with sensory loss.

According to Wikipedia, sensory loss can occur due to a minor nick or lesion on the spinal cord which creates a problem within the neurosystem. This often leads to loss of smell, touch, hearing, taste, sight. An individual with sensory loss may be affected by a variety of causes.

Unlike the other sensory losses, blindness is the only one that is easily identifiable. The main obstacle for those who live with sensory loss is interaction. They have trouble communicating with persons they used to connect with often. Such individuals cannot continue with their daily activities without feeling stressed and overloaded, which can be both saddening and irritating. Imagine being unable to see the people you care about the most as they express themselves in front of you. An individual who has trouble seeing will go to any lengths to get a sight of that look.

When a person is still trying to learn new communication techniques, trying to have a solid dialogue can be a major constraint. For instance, a person who enjoys the feel of fur will experience a loss of sensibility when unable to feel touch.

Due to their experiences, people may become reclusive and unwilling to socialise since they believe they no longer fit in with society. They experience exclusion in daily interactions with others, information, enjoyment, and so forth. As a result of the sensation of estrangement, a sense of unease and insufficiency develops. A person with sensory loss can be helped in a variety of ways. For example, a visually impaired person can move around with the help of a service dog. A person with hearing loss can use sign language and a hearing aid to communicate.
